Hi, this is my page. Barb's World II is mostly photos but I will try to change it from time to time. Also, PLEASE sign my guestbook; tell me what you liked or offer suggestions to improve. Tell me where you are from too! Please let me know if links don't work.I am from California and have two wonderful children, Cory and Stacey. My husband John has twin daughters, Kristin and Julie, also great kids. We live in a small community in northern California but I am originally from Santa Barbara, a '79 Dos Pueblos High School alumnus. I must admit, I am still a beach gal in my heart even though I live a few miles above the snowline of the Sierras. I am fortunate enough to live near two of my sisters. Our family enjoys snowy winters and very warm summers. I teach high school chemistry - a job that is never a dull moment, to say the least. I graduated from Cal Poly, SLO in 1983. I travel extensively and have been to Australia, to date, nine times. I have also been to New Zealand, Fiji, Mexico, Canada, France, Viet Nam, all over the United States, and Ecuador - The Galapagos Islands (June 2002). We all went to Belize in June last year (2004). This summer 2009 John and I went to Costa Rica and I fished with my cousin Sharon in Egegik,Alakska.One of my pages is a tribute to my nephew Steven. He died of leukemia but not without giving the cancer a good showing. After eleven years Steven lost his fight, but many of us continue his battle and hope that the war will be won. Clearly I was moved when I visited the site of the Oklahoma tragedy (on 01 July, 03). I drew this picture of the Pulitzer Prize winning photo because of the awesome (yet, in this case, futile) tenderness of this fireman holding this child...I could not color in the blood - I don't think it was necessary as we all remember it too well.
